I was thinking of taking either the "Hospital Unit Clerk" or the "Medical Records Clerk" course which focuses on compiling, processing, and maintaining medical records of hospital & clinic patients. I would also take an "Electronic Health Records" course which teaches the theory & hands-on application needed to work in todays medical office. I was considering the "Central Sterile Technician" course, but it seems that Surgical Technicians primarily hold these jobs.

After completing the above, I would then pursue either the "Medical Transcriptionist" or the "Medical Coding Certificate". Both are online courses through the school, and require an internship. I felt this field would be the best choice based on my previous experience. Although I have not worked in a medical office I was a Project Manager for Fedex Kinkos for over three years. I have strong "business/office" skills, and am a very detail-oriented, organized individual.

There is also a "Certified CNA" course & a "Home Caregiver Program", and I would take both. I was thinking of pursuing the Practical Nurse program next fall, since I would only need 9 classes. However, I don't know if I can handle collecting blood or administering IV's, if required. For some reason, the idea has always bothered me. However, I know I could earn more as an LPN, and maybe this fear of "pricking others" would pass.

What would your advice be? I am seeking a position that is in demand, and pays at least 30K. Should I take the Hospital Unit Clerk or the Medical Records Clerk course, and then take Medical Coding or Medical Transcription. Or should I continue to consider the LPN route. Honestly, I would be happiest in an office environment doing clerical tasks.
Or should I perhaps consider the Medical Assistant program, instead of the Medical Coding certificate. What would look better to a potential employer, and is the earning potential the same?

If you take a look at the comments below the article there is quite a lot of feeling about this story. I was wondering what British Muslims felt about this - not because you're the immigrants they're talking about (it's talking about immigration in the last 10 years), but because I'm interested to hear a different point of view.

"Labour's “open door” immigration policy knowingly risked allowing dangerous people to settle in Britain unchecked, according to documents seen by The Sunday Times.
...
Officials agreed to fast-track 337,000 applications with minimal checks. This led to a rapid rise in immigration. In 1999, 170,000 visas were granted; by 2002, this had risen to 300,000.
...
As officials were being ordered to take risks, several potentially dangerous people entered the UK. In late 2001, more than 20 Taliban, who had fled from Afghanistan after their defeat by American and British forces, were allowed to stay in the UK.
...
The documents indicate that, far from being a mistake, there was a deliberate policy — apparently endorsed at the highest level in the Home Office — to promote concerted risk-taking by immigration staff whose job was to decide whether non-European Union migrants applying to work, study or marry in Britain were genuine.
...
When an FoI application was made to see their exchanges, ministers argued that the material was exempt from disclosure because policy advice given by officials to their political masters should remain confidential.
...
But in March this year, Thomas ruled: “The public interest in favour of maintaining the exemption does not outweigh the public interest in disclosure.
...
The government reluctantly conceded, placing the documents on an obscure part of the department’s website, apparently in the hope that nobody would notice.
...
Why did new Labour secretly open Britain’s borders, while pretending to control the numbers under its so-called “managed migration” policy?
...
[..Andrew Neather's] claim was that uncontrolled mass immigration had been a deliberate, covert policy to change the country’s demographics.
...
But Labour’s core vote, the white working class, were drawn to the BNP at the resulting pressure on jobs, homes and schools. "

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article6907991.ece

"BUT then who would do the jobs that no one else would do"

There are plenty of people on the dole who could do them. Change the benefits system and make them work. It's a wierd system that says the best thing to do is let it's own people rot in their own decay and pay them for doing it, and at the same time import foreign workers to do all the scummy work.
"That's interesting; but what would you say if the shoe was on the other foot concerning Britains seeking to either settle down in say a nice tropical country.. "

Erm, Australia, America, Canada. They don't let anyone in, you have to meet their immigration requirements. I know educated people who want to go to these places, but can't because they don't have the skills specified.

I would totally expect every country to only let in the people who would benefit their country, to do jobs that their nationals couldn't do.

The shoe *is* on the other foot....

I'm currently unemployed and living in Kansas City, Missouri. I've been trying to find work for a few months, but it just seems like I can't get in with a decent-paying company. Ever since I started working, at 17, it seems like I'm making barely enough to keep afloat. Around 17,000 a year. I can't seem to break through that salary barrier to get what I need to be making. (26,000 a year.)

I've decided that I need to go to college, however I have a few things standing in my way.

#1 I can't afford to pay for college. My parents weren't willing to pay for it when I was a kid, they definitely won't be willing now.I know that if I have to work and go to school I'll probably end up dropping out.

#2 The last few years of my schooling was.... unorthodox. I went to private schools all through grade and middle school, but there were no private high schools in my area, so I was "Home Schooled". When I say that I mean that I sat at home and studied until I know just enough to pass the graduate equivalency test. I graduated when I was 16.

# 3 I briefly looked into going back to school about 2 years ago, however I found out that I needed to re-take some standardized test before they would even consider me. I took it and got a terrible score in math. I gave up on the idea until now.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do?

P.s. I'm not disabled or a minority, I have not ever been in the military (my parents would disown me if I ever joined).
Like I said. I didn't go to highschool, so I was never shown how to apply to colleges. My boyfriend told me that I can apply for some FAFSA thing, but until I turn 25 isn't my parents income taken into account as well? My parents own their own business and bring in about six figures a year.
I got average grades through middle school (b's and c's) and I have no GPA at all from highschool, of course.
this is the college that i would like to attend.

On AMC, there's "Friday the 13th part 3" ,"Magic" and "Child's Play"

On Showtime, there's the weekly program "Master Of Horror"

On Turner Classic Movies, there's "TCM Underground" hosted by Rob Zombie. Cult Films every late Friday night.

Also, The Independent Film Channel shows Horror Movies late on Friday nights also.

Nothing like watching Horror Movies on 4 different channels at the same time, eating snacks, and reading monster movie magazines.

If I had a girl, I'd invite her over. Friday nights can't get any better than this. No school. It's the weekend!
I'm in the 11th grade.

Just a heads up.. This is going to be a long and confusing post, but please bear with me.

So a little background before I get to the point.
I never went to school... Well I was technically "Home Schooled" from age 5 to 10, but my Mother (who was my teacher) never actually taught me much and by age 8 I was no longer doing anything educational and I was pretty much raising myself. At age 11 I started attending middle school, but I was only in school for a very short time before I was pulled out because of "family problems". I did not attend any type of school again until I was 14 (almost 15) when I was enrolled as a freshman in High School... In between that time I had done no Home Schooling or anything educational besides little tid bits of things I would learn from my friends. Anyways.. When I turned 15 I was pulled out of school again and over the years (until age 17) I had moved 7 times to various places in NC and FL and I would basically just hop from one school to the next (I honestly have no idea how this worked out, but I managed to get to the 10th grade). So at age 17 I realized that I would not be able to graduate with all the moving and because I was always extremely bad in math, so I dropped out. (Bigggg mistake.)

Now I am 18 and I am attending Adult Education classes in FL. I moved out of my parents house and I am now staying with my grandmother until I get my GED and hopefully go to college.
But I have a big problem. I was recently tested for a math disability (Dyscalculia) and the results came up positive. My test scores are normal in reading and above average in some other areas, but my math scores are extremely low. On top of that I had very low scores in broad attention and short term memory which worries me because I could have sworn I gave my 100% undivided attention while taking the test. But whatever. My IQ came out to 88.. Which didn't really worry me to much because I think IQ's are bull crap, but ever since I took this test people are treating me differently. Like my "teacher" in adult ed... Before I took this test he was very confident that I could pass the GED test with no problems and suggested that I hire a private tutor to help me in math, but after I took the test and was diagnosed with a math disability he has sent me to reading, writing and math class. Both of my "teachers" from reading and writing say I don't need to be there and that I should focus more on math (and I agree with them), but the man in charge keeps insisting that I should stay in all of these classes, even though before he saw no need for me to go to any before.

Besides all of this I have been trying very hard to learn math/algebra... I find it's extremely difficult and stressful, especially since I have family members on my back about it constantly. They think that I am faking this disability when I am not. Sometimes when I think I understand something math related it turns out that I actually have it extremely wrong and I never figure this out until it's to late. This worries me a lot because I feel like something as simple as a GED is out of reach for me because of my disability. It's been 4 months since I started in this program and I have made no progress mathematically. I was wondering if my IQ could possibly have something to do with this? And if there is any help for people like me in the state of FL?

After (if) I get my GED I want to attend DMAC (digital media arts college) because well, I've always had a passion for art. But I was wondering if my IQ scores would prevent me from getting into a college like that..? And also what types of math classes are required to attain a bachelors degree in graphic design? Would this even be possible for me?

Major kudos if you read all of that, I really appreciate any help I can get.
I was also wondering if my IQ score is correct? I know it has nothing to do with knowledge, but I feel like the score is a little low.
