And then discussed it with other adults at school and compared it to a soap opera?
"The system that Lower Merion school officials used to track lost and stolen laptops wound up secretly capturing thousands of images, including photographs of students in their homes, Web sites they visited, and excerpts of their online chats, says a new motion filed in a suit against the district.
More than once, the motion asserts, the camera on Robbins' school-issued laptop took photos of Robbins as he slept in his bed. Each time, it fired the images off to network servers at the school district.
Back at district offices, the Robbins motion says, employees with access to the images marveled at the tracking software. It was like a window into "a little LMSD soap opera," a staffer is quoted as saying in an e-mail to Carol Cafiero, the administrator running the program.
"I know, I love it," she is quoted as having replied.
Those details, disclosed in the motion filed late Thursday in federal court by Robbins' attorney, offer a wider glimpse into the now-disabled program that spawned Robbins' lawsuit and has shined an international spotlight on the district.
In the filing, the Penn Valley family claims the district's records show that the controversial tracking system captured more than 400 photos and screen images from 15-year-old Blake Robbins' school-issued laptop during two weeks last fall, and that "thousands of webcam pictures and screen shots have been taken of numerous other students in their homes."
Robbins, a sophomore at Harriton High School, and his parents, Michael and Holly Robbins, contend e-mails turned over to them by the district suggest Cafiero "may be a voyeur" who might have viewed some of the photos on her home computer."

My fleeting thought was that sleeping is not all that teens do in bed - wonder if they caught pics of that too.

Where to start.... "Four score, and seven years..." Okay, okay...jeez. First, you'll need background info. I go to my "Home School" from 8 am to 12 pm, and then attend a second school (the second school does not operate within any district, however, is accredited, and known as an innovative and hands on school world-wide. It is a high school. Center for Advanced Research and Technology. I partake in the lab known as 'Biomedical Engineering'.) All students attend "home schools" within either the cities of Fresno or Clovis (the two cities are, for all purposes of this question, one city.)
Start: August 28th 2009, Location - School CART.
I will refer to myself as I and I only. I will refer to my best friend as 'John' (without the apostrophes). I will refer to the female in discussion as 'Jane' (without the apostrophes).
My third day at the school. The last two days, I have been sitting near the middle of the laboratory (a classroom designed also as a lab). Today, other students occupy the table John and I had previously sat at. We choose a seat in the back left of the class near the vent fumes, where another girl (call her w/e), is already seated. We ask if we may take accommodation at the table. We are received without quarrel. Next, Jane sits across from me. Each table is a rectangle, approximately 1.7 times longer than it is wide. Four seats are placed at each table.
I have much to talk about with John (a bunch of crud of what else I did over the summer). He also has much to discuss. We begin discussing TV shows. John tells me of having watched all of Stargate Atlantis. I say I have watched all of Stargate SG-1. The girl not named asks us what we speak of. We say, inflatable spiders, spaceships, the kind of geeky, unimportant, uninteresting, and nerdy things we Scifi Geeks talk about. Jane smiles and chuckles silently to herself.
I continue to converse with John, and noticing that Jane looks up very, very often, I signal John to discontinue conversation, and I say to Jane (of course, I did not yet know her name), "Sorry we're bothering you with really dumb conversations about spaceships and aliens, if you want, we can be quite." She replied very lightheartedly, "No, please, you don't bother me. Continue." John then says to me, "See? I told you she wasn't bothered." I nod.
March 8 2010 - School CART.
Enough of the drone-like typing, 'eh? Well, you've come this far, so I'll try to make it more interesting from here on out.
(this is today for those you who don't keep track of time)
Alright. As of late, I've noticed increased physical contact from her. By the way, she has never been kissed, is a studyholic, and by no means, a tease. She is basically, the good girl in all regards.
When she's helping me with some chemistry, or just talking to me, she might be rubbing my arm, or my thighs (we sit in fairly close proximity). Her manner of speech, is well, Samantha Carter-like flirty, if you've ever watched Stargate. This last Saturday, while I spent the day at her house helping with a science project, we took a walk. During a part of the walk, we got into talking about my future, and I spoke of how I will probably never be married, due to the fact that I'm a bit abnormal. Well, she put her arm around my shoulders, and I put mine around her waist. We walked like this until we neared her house. During the course of this day, there were periodic moments where we seem to make excuses to touch the other person (hand to hand, hand to arm, such things).
Oh. When we're talking, we look into each others eyes for minutes, and sometimes stop talking and just look at each other. There is no awkwardness when this happens, or at any other moment actually. During these times she sometimes puts here hands on my arms, and gently rubs it.
Today, yet again, physical contact goes further. She was on her laptop, but was looking at her grade (94%), and was depressed that it was not (95%), so I took her hand (again, I did it out of instinct not really much thought), and I held it for the course of a good minute in a half, while we talked about the grade and how a (94%) is a good grade she can be proud of. A girl in our class walked by and saw us holding hands, and both of us let go and resumed talking like normal (this is not that I didn't wish to hold her hand, but to prevent her from spreading rumors that would make Jane unhappy).
Christ I don't know. Oh another thing. Her parents like me. I go shopping with Jane and her mother after school sometimes. Whenever (this means all the time), we are walking (not in school), she always bumps into me, every few seconds, as do I to her. I do it because I like her and like to have her close as possible. Laugh if you want, but after seven months of knowing her, I wouldn't call it love, but I sure as hell would say I like her legitimately and a lot.
The thing is..or, the reason I haven't just grabbed her and kissed her yet, I don't know if she wants
me to, as apparent as I think it seems. There is one final piece to the story. I asked her to go on a date of sorts in October. She said she would like to, but had promised herself when she was in middle school, that she would not date until out of university to prevent from distracting herself. I really don't know whether to believe this, but, seeing as she has a 4.2 GPA and never been kissed, well, I guess I kinda' want to believe so I don't feel rejected again.
My last question. As I said, she said she didn't want to date. But lately, she's making it really hard for me not to hold her hand when we are walking or to kiss her! I've only kissed one other girl before, so I am no professional, but I'm oh-so-tempted. Does she want me to hold her hand? Should I kiss her? If so, is she looking for a long-term relationship, looking to explore sexual desires, or does she just want to experience high school emotions, and I happen to be the guy she feels the best for the job? I don't know...I'm going insane.

I do not have any children, however I teach and tutor them. I started up a program for families in need. I have about 50 kids that I enrolled in my program, and I tutor them in areas that they are having trouble with. I offer help in Math, English/Language Arts, Science, U.S. History, Social Studies, Geography, Spanish and Test Prep/Study Skills. All of my services are provided ABSOLUTELY free of charge.
I also donate and provide backpacks full of school supplies to children whose families cannot afford them, and I also pack a week's worth of bag lunches with the kids one night a week at my house so that they can take them to school and have something nutritious to eat for lunch and snacks. I also make sure that they have plenty to drink because so many children are not getting adequately hydrated in schools these days (I work in nursing and I see sick school-aged kids all of the time and too too many of them come in extremely dehydrated) and teachers aren't paying good enough attention to this issue. But that's a whole separate ballgame.
Anyway, I started this program BECAUSE I believe schools are outrageous with their demands for fees and supplies and "suggestions" for donations and such. The supply lists they send home to parents/guardians are outrageous, extensive and very costly. Also, some schools even have programs in classrooms where they want to either have breakfast, snack times or "milk breaks". This is a great idea and all, but it's not if families have to PAY for all of these things. It's not fair for the children whose families cannot afford it. Why should some children have to sit in class and watch other kids have snacks, breakfasts, juices and milks when they have none? Schools should not allow this to happen. They should either provide snacks and drinks for every child, or get rid of the "program" altogether. Some families cannot even afford to send their children to school with adequate lunches (by absolutely NO FAULT of their own), let alone with money for extra snacks, juice and milk! Give these people a break. It's simply not fair.
And don't even get me started on book fairs, plant sales, craft fairs, Christmas gift sales and things like that. (Most of these proceeds do not go 100% to the schools, and if they don't, in my opinion anyway, they shouldn't have them. And some families cannot afford to send their children with money for these things as I've said before, so why should some children feel left out? These are not NECESSARY things. The focus here should be on EDUCATION, not begonias!!!!)
THEREFORE, for these reasons, I started this program. Tutoring is incredibly expensive (especially if you turn to one of those Sylvan learning centers or something - sheesh!) the price of school lunches really adds up (not to mention, you really don't know if what your child is eating is nutritious at all), and school supply costs (plus those little "extra" fees they like to slide in there all of the time with those notes they send home asking for $5 here, $10 there what seems like every gosh darn week!) add up very, VERY fast.
I believe that every child is entitled to a more than decent education, no child should ever go hungry, and no child should suffer emotional distress because s/he is watching another child get something that they cannot have in school, where children are supposed to be focusing on education, not getting their feelings hurt because some of the other kids have a juicebox and s/he doesn't (schools should not even be supporting this). Schools go on and on and on about equality and fairness....but what I described above is not fair or equal at all.
And just for the record, I live on a very strict budget as so so many families do. I do my best to clip coupons and buy in bulk for the kids and I get all of my teaching supplies at the dollar store. Sometimes I get lucky and find extra supplies (like newspapers, magazines, paper, half-used notebooks, etc.) tossed out in recycling bins and things like that.
I just wanted to let all of the parents out there know that even though I don't have children of my own, I understand how much of a dent school costs can put into your wallet and I'm really trying to help make the load a little lighter for as many families as I can.
So, does ANYONE agree that schools are asking (and sometimes even demanding!) way too much? And that the costs are just outrageous? I'd love some feedback on this!!!!

OK, so i'm doing this "report" in social studies, and my teacher put us in groups, and i'm with like the dumbest people in the world. Anyway the assignment was, find a problem in your country/region then come up with a proposal to fix it. Well i had no clue and since i was the smart one of the group we kinda crashed and burned. I know they have pollution problems but how can that be fixed? And so finally this one kid in my group says "Well in Ukraine kids aren't going to school" Ok, sounds good right? Well when the teacher did a check-up to make sure we had a proposal, we told her kids weren't going to school in ukraine, and she asks why? And no one had a clue so we all look at this kid and he says cause their parents won't let them, and the teacher says why won't they let them? And the kid says cause they don't want them to get an education and they want them to stay home and work in the house (well at this point in my head i'm thinking OH MY GOD YOU ARE SO DUMB! Because that doesn't make sense!) and then the teacher gives us a super weird look and says What? That doesn't make sense. Find more information on the
problem and get some information to back it up. And so i go home and look it up and it's no where to be found online so he probably just made that up so anyone know if that IS a real problem? If it's not, anyone know any problems going on in Europe and what the government can do to help it/ what proposal we should take? HELP PLEASE! THANK YOU SOO MUCH!
HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

My parents split when i was 6, and i know that happens all the time, but the blame goes completely on my son-of-a-bitch father, he was always having these "email friends" and at the time (being only 6) i thought that was all it was. but later i realised he was constantly cheating on my mom, she would work all day and he would just sit in front of the computer, and then he wouldnt do any housework or the like. now, i was perfectly happy pretending he didnt exist, but then about 2 years ago my mom died, and ive been forced to live with him since. him and my 2 brothers. my older brother hates the world, and thinks he is better then everyone else. my younger brother has a learning disability, and im stuck taking care of myself. at the moment, we are living off of survivour benifits and money from my father's pain-in-the-ass parents. and my dad doesnt really know the meaning of "home-school" he seems to think it means the student teaches themselves, which i do, since he is busy with my bro.
