Do People Still Look At Those That Live In “trailers” Or “mobile Homes” As Poor Or Bad?
I used to have a friend since high school that I was really close to. Well, she always seemed to try to live the higher class life because that's how her mom is. I live with what I have. My husband and I have a mobile home, and have 2 kids, 2 dogs. Although she never said it to me outright (almost a few times, though) she always seemed like she was better because she has a condo (which to me is a very expensive apartment- my niece, who is 11, said so too), and would get mad when I would ask her not to call it a house. Yet, one of her husband's friends lives 2 places away (and it married to an old classmate of mine from elementary school). She was fine with them moving out here.
Do people still think it's low-class, or is it accepted now?

I think it’s low class. Sorry, but the people there tend to be kind of dirty, and I just don’t like it.
Most people that live there are indeed pretty trashy. Not all of them though.
Mobile homes have come a long way and today many of the middle range to higher end mobile homes look as good as, or better than traditional rancher style houses. Mobile home parks in general, still carry a stigma about them of being a lower class as you mentioned. The reality of it all though is that manufactured home parks are just like regular neighborhoods. There are high end one that cost hundreds of thousands to purchase a manufactured home in, there are middle of the road (average joe) parks and then there are the low end parks. Unfortunately, these low end parks are what keeps the stigma alive.
